My first international wedding (in England) 8/14/2010

I shot a wedding last month in the United Kingdom (near the Nottingham area). It was my first international gig! I know the groom through conferences I attend for work, and we agreed that I'd photograph his wedding in exchange for him paying for my airfare over and my hotel for the wedding weekend. (and as a result I had a much discounted vacation since I only had to pay for the week before and week after things I did on my vacation)

It also turned into my first Hindu ceremony as well :)

I like 6 and 13, yay fisheye hahaha I think 1 and 5 could have used a little fill flash because of the back lighting making them dark.

I am so jealous of your destination! Congrats on that. There are a few I would lighten up the couple themselves.
I love 1, just beautiful with the light coming through the tree leaves, 8 !!!, 11,12 capture the happiness of the people involved. 13 is just cool.

Nice! What part of CA? I'd never been to the UK myself, so it was a super exciting trip :)

Thanks for the kind words everyone. 5 was intentionally shot w/out fill flash, I wanted it to feel like we were spying on the couple leaving that sense of intrigue by keeping it a bit on the dark side, not quite a silhouette but not fully lit either. I dunno, maybe it works, maybe it doesn't, but I liked how it came out heh.

Most important question, Cat. Did you get a henna? I mean how was the food in England, honestly? :D

Did you use a fisheye on 13?

They did the henna a couple days before at the bride's parents house, and I was staying at the bride & groom's house at the time, so wasn't nearby. I thought the food was fine, not as exciting as some other international cuisine I've had but quite good (and varied). Since I was in London most of the time, we had quite the international selection of food choices. Yes #13 is taken with my Sigma 15mm fisheye.
