Richard, cut me some slack - please :dunno

One of three keepers off first developed roll of film in at least five years. Unfortunately the film was Extachrome 100, five-years post-dated. So the color was nothing to write home about. But as black and white, it does work.

First reaction was, nice. I like it. Just a nice relaxed candid. But the setting, there's something familiar about it. Where's the nude? headscratch.gifmwink.gif

Btw, my first roll of film (Tri-X) in more than a decade will come back tomorrow.

A roll here, a roll there...Don't know that it adds up to a come back - especially at current prices (!). On the other hand, I think there are enough people still shooting film - or discovering it - that it will not completely vanish.

I am very close (very) to selling my 5D Mark 2 and my 85mm 1.2 L Mark 2. I will then buy a Nikon F6 and an excellent lens (probably the 85 1.4 or the 50 1.2). I am about to leave digital...

This looks like one of HCB's portraits of Stieglitz. I like it a lot. It brings out his character and it's beautifully exposed.

As a follow, this Ilford 400 would not have been possible with my digital, a camera I heard referred to this weekend as a Polaroid (my $4,000 Polaroid - 5D2 w/ 85L2). Taken last Sunday.

Nice observation. That is what he must be looking at.

This would have made a great second shot to the other for a two shot series. This is a better stand alone shot.

I dunno- I just purchased this software (actually- the whole collection for LR3) and it offers great stuff for B&W:

Thanks, Damon. I had been told that this camera - the Rollei 6008; a beast in many respects - has one of the best metering systems in any camera, and I have to say it's pretty incredible.

Yeah, I've used most of the conversion programs. The best in my opinion is Alien Skin's Exposure, but even that leaves me wanting. Real film rules.

This from the man who told me I was wasting my time trying film???? Laughing.gif I love it.

Too bad there isn't a film forum here - could be called the oxymoron forum.
