FX and DX is related to crop factor.

Q was a class of nikon lenses in.. ugh.. 60s? (gurus, correct me?), but the rumor is that it is making its way back to the market.

Very early non-AI Nikkor lenses sometimes had a letter designation to indicate the number of elements in the lens. "Q", in that instance, would indicate a "quad" or 4-element design.

    More information here:

Do not try to mount a non-AI lens on most modern Nikon cameras as it can cause damage to the camera.

I think that the OP was actually saying "THANK YOU!" rather than asking about Q lenses.

Step out from behind the lens Ziggy, experience the modern pop culture that came after the Darkroom Ages. mwink.gif

Watching all you guys explain Nikons' archaic lens designations was pretty funny though very informative. Thanks for the lesson!bowdown.gif
