I like the b&w -- it is more of what I expect from you than the color shots (not sure this is a good thingrolleyes1.gif). It is so well shot/processed.

Thanks. The guy on the ground was rocking back and forth and I actually missed the shot I wanted to take. I waited, and he almost did it again, but not quite. He was quoting the Qur'an. The reason why the colors aren't my usual fare (I totally agree by the way) is because all of the subjects saw me and asked to have their photograph taken. That never happens, but I was happy to oblige.

Agreed, the bw is just great. Love the processing and motion you captured and it's ambiguous.

As to the other shots. I have noticed myself people requesting to have their shots taken. It's puzzling, I don't know who does this? I can see them saying "here take our photo with our camera" but to ask to that you take their picture just because it's puzzling. I do it of course and enjoy talking and interacting with them it's a refreshing change.
I just haven't posted here so when you did....It made me wonder.

I do like the last shot of the family by the way. Especially since you tell us this was in d.c.. I also love the look you captured of the little guy. What an expression!

So are we saying it's ok to post photos that are posed for us on the street or not? (Giant can of worms cracked open).

Laughing.gif! Not sure. I'll stop if that's the rule. I don't want to mess up the PJ groove.

I think it's weird too. I guess it's better than people getting mad and freaked out. Ken Rockwell says that he uses a button on his F100 that sounds like the shutter clicking for these situations. They're happy and he's happy because he did not have to waste film.

I know that B.D. always wanted this to be as much a Candid's forum as anything. That and the ethos of street shooting that often includes significant environmental components. Plus, who says you only press the shutter when everyone is smiling and looking at you.
