Not sure if this is the correct area to ask this question.... but...
Here goes...
I just returned from two weeks in China visiting my wife.... took about 10 GB of pics..
After every day of shooting I transferred that days shots to another SD card.. labeled every folder with some hints of where I was :rofl
Now that I am wading through all the pics.... I find some files as "invalid image" .. If I check the properties of the file, it has a *.jpg extension, and is between 8-10mb in size.. yet I can't view the picture...
I have tried to open these "invalid image" in GIMP, Photoshop, the Pentax software, and even PAINT..no joy...
Is there anyway I can repair these pictures.... CHKDSK utility or something?

It could be a real simple fact that you did not format the card as a fat32 (newer large cards need to be formatted as fat 32) or there could be other problems....
I have been using this software for many years...it will work on any brand card......

I formatted the card in the camera and all the other days images are ok..
I'll try one of those recovery softwares and see if that helps
However both programs rename the files so direct comparisons to which corrupt files were recovered or fixed are difficult..
