I was trying some ideas with my flash a few days ago and forgot to change the settings back and ended up blowing this picture out, but I like the results. What do you think?

To be that close, the focus is far to soft in my opinion. I try not to be such a technically, stringent observer but in this case it just seems to come off as "missed".

I tend to agree. The picture is cropped about as far as I care too. It was actually a head shot to start with.

for this kind of shot..focus/sharpness is everything... and in this case it misses.
