Texas Tech Vs. #4 Texas

At halftime we were only down by 3, 17-14. Halfway through the 3rd quarter we made 2 costly mistakes and got penalties called on us when Texas failed to convert on 3rd downs. Giving them 2 fresh sets of down. They ended up scoring again and we didn't. It was still a dang good game considering their ranking and our lack of being ranked at all. So, enjoy pics from the game.

Although I am not the biggest Football fan, you managed to keep me interested throughout the whole set! Nicely done. I always love the crowd shots! 70-200 and tele again or a new lens? They looked great. GReat eye contact! As long as they dont run where they are looking!

You gotta teach online courses for flash useage! I have seen alot of shots online that.... need... well.. need some tutoring on the flash useage side! All the ones you posted were sharp, and the colours were great. I would sign up for it for sure. All summer i tried to practice. Think i am still needing more though!

Good to see you posting. Been a while! I was hoping you were going to the MXdN. Sigh.. I am not.

    Hey Brennan,

All I used on these was the D700 and 70/200. You can't use flash for college football. I did just order a new 24-70. I'm moving to portrait and wedding photography and just opened a new business for it. This lens is great for portraits.

I'm about to post a thread with my favorite pics from the last MX at Pala a few weeks ago. Heard good news today too. RacerX is going to have me be one of their SX photogs next season!!!

Amazing stuff, I always enjoy when you post pictures on here, any details on the post processing would be appreciated. I got to shoot NC State@UCF this year as a second shooter still going through my pics.. I doubt they will look as nice as yours!!

Thanks David. For these, I bumped exposure just a tad, made a new adjustment layer and set a black point, bumped saturation a tad, used dodge tool here in there to lighten dark areas, a bit of unsharp mask, and finally cropped each pic. Hope this helps.

I have been waiting for this thread, figured it would be coming sooner or later. Great shots as always. I actually told my wife while I was watching the game that one of those guys on the sideline would be posting pics in the forum... just didn't know who! (meaning I knew you would have some coming....). Looking forward to seeing more later in the season...

The refs were horrible during the game... Tech got shafted pretty bad a few times, although not enough in the end to have changed the ultimate result.

I've got two favorite teams in college ball: A&M and whoever is playing t.u. mwink.gif

Needless to say, I was pulling for Tech. Always tough to win in Lubbock.

Yea, check out this video that was what most think, a game deciding penalty. We still may not have won, but Texas would not have scored a touchdown right then and we would have had the ball. Who know, it may not have made a difference, but it was still pretty crappy.

Yep, that was one of the big ones. Horrible call... Perfect video to show it.

The other one that was nearly as bad was the pass that one ref ruled as incomplete (ball hit the ground) and he got overruled. Texas managed to snap the ball before they were able to review it.

Yea, I guess when you're the darling of the Big 12, you're going to get calls to go your way more times than not.
