traffic monitoring / statistics

Hi - I recently changed all my galleries to "Journal" view, so viewers have a better appreciation for the photographs. The downside is that the statistics function only counts a picture viewed when someone clicks it to see it even larger.
Is there a way (or can I make this a request) so that the number of journal page views is also counted? I use paid search from time to time and would like to get an idea of how much traffic I am generating, as well as what galleries or specific pages are getting the most admiration.
Thanks, tj

If you have a Power or Pro account, you could add additional counters to your site, they might help in gathering more information.

I ran an experiment this morning with a new laptop, accessing a gallery that is a little out of the way, and the page counts never showed up when I go to look at traffic under Statistics/Popularity/today. Even after 45 minutes of the traffic the statistics did not (and still have not) shown up.
Also, if your statement was correct I would see traffic counts starting from the beginning of galleries (since the first page of Journal view brings up 10 images, all 10 should be counted according to your definition). I occassionaly see that behavior in the statistics, but more commonly I see photo hits for images well into a gallery and nowhere near the start of the gallery.
So I go back to the belief that statistics for Journal view pages are only those of a particular size or if the image is clicked.
FYI, I am a pro user, regularly use the statistics tab of control panel and the other pointers you provided are helpful.
thanks
