Wrong season, I know, but I'm new here and figured I'd share anyway. Shot with my 50mm f/1.8 on my D60. This is a picture of my girlfriend shortly after the very windy 2010 graduation ceremony at UMass. I have since sold the lens in favor of the 35mm f/1.8 with which AF is compatible on my D60.

C&C is welcome. Thanks!

Hmm, One of the reasons I got the 35 and sold the 50 was that the 50's AF was incompatible with my D60. I think this is the best picture I got with my 50 because it's just so difficult to MF on the fly... Thanks for your comments!

Ah yes, a bear to use in manual mode on a moving object.
The D60 does not have a drive motor so there are many peices of glass that wont work with it.
Kudos to you for getting it this focused in maunual

Yeah, I'd love a D300s, it's just not in the budget... It's easier to upgrade the user than the gear, anyway. Thanks though. I'd love to get another 50mm f/1.8. It was a great lens, just really not easy to use with the stuff I found myself shooting.

Ahh....but the D7000 is coming out later this year and it will give the D300s a run for the money at a lower retail price of 1200 dollars.

Yeah, I was reading up on the D7k earlier today... It's tempting for sure... I think I'll wait for the proof to come out either way.

Funny you should ask, I've only really used it a few times. I just don't find myself shooting people all that often. It was at my cousin's wedding a few weeks ago in Alaska. I'm still sorting through the pictures from that whole trip (I took 1300 and settled on 230ish keepers).

Nice, did you use flash on the second one or is that ambient light

There was flash. The lighting was actually pretty bad, but I was able to get a lot of it back when I processed the raw image. This was actually one of my "I'm experimenting with the flash" shots. I didn't have a diffuser on and the ceiling was matte black so no bounce. I think I had the flash pointed at one of the white beams above in hopes for a bit of bounce...
