Yes, yes and YES. I love these. The story isn't in-your-face, but each has enough texture and personality to stand on its own. Beautiful! I can totally see them as stills in an indie movie. Can't you? My fingers fairly twitch to write...

Thank you! I usually delete my bus/subway shots but was happy with these.

    Thanks!

You can write the script and I will give you rights to the photos in exchange for tickets for the premiere...

It was such an eclectic cast of characters, right down to the unseen person on the right with the "Nightmare b4 Xmas" bag.

I love these kind of shots, but often don't have the nerve to take them. Did you ask them for permission, or was this some sort of Mission Impossible secret hidden camera?

Love them both, but #2 is my favorite.

    Question for you.
Did you bring the camera to your eyes or hip shot?
I have a very difficult time with hip shots, they are never straight, they're totally wonky and this is just perfect.

No permission usually requested as it changes the shot from a candid/street to a posed/portrait. In this case, I did not raise the camera to my eye so that they would not know I was shooting.

I have a very difficult time with hip shots, they are never straight, they're totally wonky and this is just perfect.

First one, I was seated in a "double" seat,so I had a clear shot up the aisle. My backpack was on my lap and the camera was on top of that with my arms resting there. So I could casually snap the shot without the guy noticing (unless he noticed me checking my LCD afterwards).

Second I was getting ready to exit the bus and as it stopped, I shot from the hip. Shooting ultrawide (17mm gives lots of room to crop and straighten).

Very cool catch, rainbow! I think that either one could stand on its own, but together knowing that they were looking right at each other...priceless.

If looking at them separately, to me, the guy in #1 doesn't look like he's looking *at* anything in particular...but more like looking through them. Kind of like what I do if I'm deep in thought or horribly exhausted. I'll stare off into space at nothing in particular. He looks like he has the same glazed over look.

The center couple in #2 couldn't look more disinterested in each other. He seems to be saying "I'm putting my arm around you to let everyone else know that we're dating, but not because I actually give a rip." The man on the right looks like he's patiently waiting to get to his stop. And the two on the left crack me up. She's talking away and he's making no effort to hide his boredom, as if to say "would you shut up already?"

Lots of stories here! Very, very good catch, Rainbow! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for the detailed response. It is helpful to know what others see and actually has me revisiting the photo to see things I did not catch!
