DSS 60 Getting Back into it

It's been about a month since I've even gone out shooting what is wrong with the world (well other than moving/work taking over my life).

I needed to do something so back to the challenges I come, and here are 2 images (one with 2 crops) let me know what you think:

    Nice angle and DOF on #1. I also prefer the darker coloring you have in that shot. Well done!

    The second one reminds me of an elephant's eye, which is what I was going totry to shoot for this!

    I think this would benefit from a wider shot (also i wanna know that it is =c) Technically speaking they're very good, but it doesn't grab me (maybe add something, an object of some sort?)

    I think it is a glove. And I really like the texture. But I agree with Pyroprints, it needs something to give the viewer more context.

    Of the second set, I like the first one best.
