They all look really great. Great conversions.

I didn't see the EXIF data in your post. Is that what you were asking?

I agree. Love the composition, and it looks like I could reach out at feel the leather texture.

Thanks for the positive comments, everyone! Looks like #3 is the favorite so I think I'll try to get that one up and posted later, unless someone notices something I should fix...

I appreciate that you each took the time to take a look!

I'm going to go against the crowd and tell you I really like #4. Something about the selective focus on the toe of the boot draws me in. That said, I can see why others like #3...it is a great classic catch, and well shot.

I like #3 also. It says 'leather' the most to me. :D

Thank you, Chris and TL. I appreciate the comments. (Did you like the scuffs, TLVoDra? :D) I like the boots also and I'm going to post the picture on my site. They are my favorite boots...they are Spanish-made and I bought them in Germany when I was studying there 15 years ago. Good memories!

Thank you, SeaScapes, for your comment! I appreciate the confirmation. I can see that another great poster on the list is leaning toward boots... and so, given the general choice of people here, I think I'll go with the glove and see how it rolls! (Besides, my husband and son preferred the baseball pic...go figure!)

I think that #4 (the boots shot) is more artistic too.

Thank you, Tatiana! I appreciate the compliment :D ...even though it has me more befuddled about which to submit. ne_nau.gif Oh well. I'll make the choice on the spot, I guess!

I didn't measure the pixel width around your photos, but beware:

Borders/Frames: No borders or framing (discussion here). In the event of a triptych or other multi-shot image, a 1 pixel black or white separation line will be permitted

Thank you so much! I did notice that this afternoon, just before I submitted a picture. I really appreciate that you were watching out for me! It would be sad to be disqualified on my first try...

So does my husband. But I think it's the two St Louis caps that tips the scales for him! rolleyes1.gif

Thanks for the comment. It makes me happy that a few of the pictures prompted positive responses.

It looks like you have the same problem I do... (and I guess its a good one to have...) in that you had multiple ideas, and more than one seems to have worked pretty well. For what it's worth, I initially thought I liked #2 the most, but the more I look at the boots, the more I can't decide. The problem is that while I'm sure I DO like the boots, and did initially, I think my difficulty in deciding which photo to weigh in on had more to do with other people's comments than my gut reaction to the images. I think that all of these are strong images, and I think that my attempting to comment on this thread has helped me realize what I need to do myself, and that is to do my best to come up with a creative take on the topics, and go with my gut feeling on which images to post... even if it isn't in line with what everyone else thinks. The last several challenges, I've done a lot of second guessing myself based on input from others, and regretted some of my entry choices later. I do think that the input is valuable, but my recommendation is to go with your gut...

Thank you, John. I truly appreciate your comments. In the end, I did go with the closer shot on the mitt. It's funny...all of these shots were kind of a backup plan, but I didn't have time to do my real idea. So I'm just relieved that they worked well enough to use! :D
