Flat- footed flies, Platypezidae - these are the ones that like to run around in circles at high speed on leaves.

Thanks for looking and commenting everybody- appreciated
Japers - the flash diffuser ends up next to the end of the lens at about 2 oclock when viewed from behind but I'm often tilting the camera.
