    Yeah, I think it only looks a bit desaturated.

    color?

    Yes it is still color. I do not consider this mono.
    The easiest way to make any image a monotone or monochrome version is to use the hue & saturation but by also clicking the colorize box.

    There are other better ways to achieve the goal but this way is one of the easiest and least confusing.
