Tom, this is a nice portrait.
Is there a before image you can post so that I can see what touch ups were made?

To me what you did to the eyes really made them pop. However his skin looks a bit "over smooth" to me. I also like the light/shadow mix.

    Thanks for the before shot
I like what you did overall...
Perhaps the right cheekbone and general area might just be a little overdone

I like the eyes. Really pop and aren't over sharpened. I also like the way you dodged and burn to give it more depth. I don't like the skin texture, or lack there of. Skin is way to smooth, especially for a dude. Almost looks like it's a painting. How about you mask in the old image?

    The eye is brightened unnaturally.
The light on the cheek is unnatural as well. See on the original how the light is brighter at the top and falls off as it goes down the face.
On the redo it is to bright and the brightness does not fall off.
The actual skin is more like what you would do to a pretty girl (just a little overdone at that), guys skin should be left a little more "natural".
    Over all a good effort.

It's a nice job if it not to be used as a portrait to give to grandma or mom and dad. It has more of a commercial feel to me, like a magazine cover.
