This was my first trip to the Slot canyon - what a beautiful place - lines and colors everywhere - could shoot there all day -

That is a nice set of images, such an amazing amount of light and shapes. While I have been in the area several times, I have never made the time to get into the slot canyons.

Love them. I am leaving for UT/AZ next week for 2 weeks and want to stop there.

Did you go solo or did they require a guide? I'm reading/hearing conflicting information. Website says both Upper and Lower require a guide. Someone I know went there and said only Upper requires a guide and you can do self-guided in Lower.... Can you shed any light on that????

these were all shot in the lower Canyon you drive up to the parking lot - tell the guy at the kiosk that you want a photo pass - $26.00 get you 4 hours of time in the canyon - on your own- we spent 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the after noon - afternoon had fewer people - the upper canyon is a different story - escorts only - restricted to a tour - tomorrow we are going on a special Photo tour with the Hummer tour operator in Page - not their normal tour just happened to have 2 slots open- post pictures later

I went to the Lowerr in March and there was no crowd and the guide left me in there for for 2 hours and only came back a few times to check on me. It was sweet. :D

On your shots I had many that were similar. If you shot RAW try warming the white balance up a bit. All the colors pop right out. wings.gif

Edit: OK I went back and looked closer. Your shots are great, maybe only a tiny bit warmer on #2 and #3 would be interesting. Nicely done.bowdown.gif

beautiful... amazing colors, aren't they? haven't been through the lower canyon, unfortunately... only had time for one when i was there, and i chose the extended tour in the upper canyon.

Also pretty funny how out of all the landscape options you and I post Antelope canyon shots together at almost the same time. rolleyes1.gif
