Ok, so I'm not very good at street photography (in my opinion at least).. however - there are a few "street & pj"esque images in my latest blog post. Check it out over here: http://jeremydwayne.com/?p=715 Please leave me some blog love if you would like to :D

I think the shots are nice enough, but there's not much "street" action going on there. You obviously took time to frame and expose the images. It would be interesting if you were to select one or two of the locations and wait and watch for how people interact with the space and with each other. Sometimes you can see interesting things by just sitting on the curb, pretending to be reading a book. Looking forward to seeing some of your next attempts posted in the forum.

Ok, so I'm very disappointed with the picture of the old man walking. I saw him across the street down a ways, and I moved to where I wanted to be, and waited for him. The shot I was going for there had motion blur, so I scooted down the street some more to get SOMETHING sharp. And, by the time I got it I got his back..

The kid on the bike is what I wanted with the old man. That one I am proud of.

Like I said, I'm no street photographer.. but I'm working on it. Sadly our downtown isn't exactly crowded with people.. makes it kind of hard to practice. rolleyes1.gif

I wish I could take pictures like you. I take good ones from time to time but it's completely on accident.

Practice practice practice... Learn your camera inside and out, be able to control it without looking at it. Learn to observe everything and every angle of everything. Learn to see the light. Once you do that you will be rocking some amazing pictures ON PURPOSE!

It's taken me almost 2 years to get where I am today, and I have a long ways to go.

Thanks! As to the processing... They're all SOOC jpegs. I shot using the in camera monochrome settings and told myself that I have to get it right in camera. No cropping, no curves adjustments, no anything.

Matthew Saville made a comment a little while back on a thread (I cant remember which one) with a bnw image that was SOOC jpg using the in camera monochrome and it looked amazing. I took his image and made it into a challenge for myself.

many of your shots are quite beautiful but at Mich said not really "street". I would define them more as urban landscapes.

study some of the masters. see what they saw, look for interactions / juxtapositions between people and objects
