A set of three Street Shots

I'm messing with NIK Silver EFEX 2.0 and this software is great.

Here's a set of three with the color shot SOOC for comparison.

When I shot film- I used Ilford ASA100 because I was in Germany (British Company?) and I liked it, along with Plus-X and Tri-X Kodak offerings.

The B&W conversion was using the Ilford preset, which makes it almost like the output from Ilford film.

The other shot was messing with the tonal qualities.. I'm still getting used to the software.

No software noise reduction for comparison..

For comparison, I then added noise reduction (auto, 1 click in NIK D-Fine) and sharpened (auto- 1 click in NIK Sharpener Pro) and the color shot got the additional "bleach bypass" (1 click in NIK Color Efex Pro)

First, I really like the first b&w version. It is well conceived and executed.

Also, thanks for sharing the info on the product. I try not to look at new software because I actually hate learning it and frequently tire of the PP before I run out of pics to process (and I'm too cheap to spend more). I use Canon's free DPP and, if needed, go to Photoshop Elements 8. I get different looking shots from each.

The very last, extra sharp color version is the one for me.

I could spend hours looking at the black and white (the first of the last set).

There are tons of presets in theat NIK software.. and then to top it off, it's easy to use.

    Never MisterB--ever!
I'm very aware of how lucky I am.
It's crazy, it's crowded, a little dirty, and you get shoved alot on the train, but it's a street shooters paradise.
I love all the different nationalities and I love living in Elmhurst/Jackson Heights Queens, one of the most ethnically diversified neighborhood in the entire US. iloveyou.gif

Glad photography is giving you a reminder though :D.

Spent most of my life in the Bronx, but moved to the suburbs because we were starting a family. My wife also feels the same way: we both love the Bronx.

I won't move beyond an hours drive because I need the excitement of the city, the Knicks, the Broadway Shows, the Art and Culture- plus the sights!
