In the spirit that Andy has so generously inspired, I now find that I have an extra lens or two, myself. Up for auction, all proceeds to Katrina relief, is a brand new, unmounted Canon EFS 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM. It has been out of the box, but not out of the house. To sweeten the deal just a little bit, also including a mint(y) edition of the Canon EF 35-135mm f/4-5.6 USM. Same deal as Andy's. High bidder by 8 PM Sunday. (Note that the EFS on the 60mm.)

Well, the 60mm is $400 at B&H, plus shipping, and the 35-135 is probably worth $50. How about $350 to start? Don't be shy, folks. You 20D and D-Reb users have been putting off getting that macro you've always wanted...here is a great chance to get a real bargain and do your good deed, too.

Can we get a "Pay it Forward" auction going for Katrina? You bet!

In the way of a small bump, I just checked the B&H invoice and I paid $461.35 for the lens, shipped. It is a USA lens and will come with the invoice dated 4-19-05. Bidders?

Here is a link to the Miranda review.

Can't imagine why someone hasn't jumped on this good deal. Maybe everyone is Labor Daying it. Let's extend the auction until Monday night, 9 PM eastern. The lens is packed and ready to ship. Let's go, guys! ne_nau.gif

    I'll take it!

I hate to get rid of this thing because it goes so well with the 20D. So, I'll send $350 to the Red Cross. It occurred to me that Andy was the only charity participant here, since I would have bought the lens I bought from him sooner or later, somewhere, at about the same price. So, my lens stays home, a few more bucks head to NOLA, and Andy's generosity remains the benchmark. Thanks, Andy!

What a fantastic gesture, Ashby !! I am so impressed with the money earned here for the victims of Katrina. You guys are amazing, and Andy, you have done a great job here on the charity and donations. I wish I had some bucks right now to help out from here.thumb.gif
