CafePress pricing versus Smugmug

I'm in Atlanta with a client who has retained me for taking photos that he wishes to turn into posters. He has a Sony Alpha series camera and I have my normal arsenal. He told me that what he usually does is order 24x36 from his Cafe press account for around $25. I checked our cost and it's almost $60--double his printing cost. :huh
How do I justify the Smugmug pricing to him? Is the SM print going to be 2x better? I'm thinking of ordering one of each to compare, but that's an expensive experiment and I'm afraid the price/performance value will be higher on the cafepress print. Any feedback appreciated.

Yes, you would. Bay is hand-color corrected, and also used a different paper (Lustre, a pro paper).
