Hi everybody
I read carefully the Dgrin post from Andy http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=18703 about posting images, but I couldn't find any explanation about how to post images that are not in my SmugMug galleries :scratch. Does that mean it's not possible to post images that are not alredy in our SM galleries? Instead, If it's possible I'd like to understand how.
thanks
Fabio

    Hi Fabio,

You can post images that are hosted anywhere that allows external linking to the image. Just include the URL surrounded by IMG tags. Make sure that the URL points to the image alone, not the whole Web page. You can also directly attach one image per post for pics that are only on your home machine by using the little paper clip button at the top and uploading it to Dgrin. Note that there are size limitations on attached images.

But if you have a SmugMug account, why not put the pics there? You can always restrict access to the gallery and make it invisible to your regular visitors. headscratch.gif

You can also find tutorials on how to post images from SmugMug, Flickr and PhotoBucket in the tutorials section. Click on 'tutorials' near the top of this screen and then select the 'dgrin tutorials' thumb.gif

ImageShack is ok? If yes, what is the maximum file size?

You are obviously right 15524779-Ti.gif; I have an account and I will surely upload through the SM links. But since I am new to SmugMug, I was also interested in submitting images for critique and suggestions in the forum prior to upload them in my galleries. This is especially important to me to understand SmugMug's printing standards about issues like noise/exposure/sharpening mwink.gif.

have you considered an "unlisted" gallery on SM where you can hold those images until you're ready to move them to a public gallery? that's what I do and it works very well.

    Hi Angelo
No, as I said I am new and there are so many things and features to discover for me; but I would be glad to dig into this option if you can help me!
p.s. have you got italian ancestors?

Just create a new gallery and set it to unlisted in gallery settings :D nobody but you will see it.

    Thanks!
Just one thing, I applied a SmugMug watermark to an entire gallery; now I wanted to delete it to apply a customized one but the removal (Tools>Many photos>More>Watermarking) didn't work.

Once you click Tools > Many Photos > More > Watermarking, on this new page click Select All then click Remove then click Watermark. It might take an hour or two for the watermarks to be removed once you do this process.

I understand; it's because the page says it's gonna take few minutes (and in fact it's what it took to apply the watermarks)

Great! Yeah sometimes it can take a while, depending on the time of day and how busy the servers are.

Sure but why not just use an unlisted gallery on your SmugMug site?
