Mooses, one more round...

OK I've pretty well finished culling moose shots from this fall. So this should be the last of them until next season. The first one was nearly a cull due to the obscured nose but ended up being my favorite image of the big guys to date. I actually think that not being able to see that big goofy moose nose gives a better impression of the intimidation factor one feels when this view is in person :huh The second one isn't a prize moose but was one of the better technical executions that I managed. That should be it for this season... it's snowing :cry

Fantastic shots. The only time I was that close to a moose was when I nearly hit one with my (TINY)car - a VW. Yep - that's intimidating!:D

Dan...try a tighter crop on the first one...to the point where no vegetation is showing on the nose....very intimidating IMO.

    Great catches.

    Beautiful captures. Again. :)
That first one definitely looks too close for comfort.
So, if that's the last of the moose for the season, what will you have for us during winter?

Thanks for the comments. Ric I tried the crop as suggested and it didn't work for me.

Snowgirl, that's beautiful country you live in there. I'm currently visiting just south of you here in Maine. But I've seen too many Stephen King movies and I'm scared to go in the woods around here eek7.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Thanks, folks.

Jackiejay, the photos were taken in the Chugach mountains near Anchorage. We've been living down here for nearly a year now after nine years in Fairbanks.
