In addition to green flash the sunsets lately were featuring something very non-typical for our part of SoCal - a thunderstorm. Here are a few exerpts from Oct 1st:
#1: Gold
#2: Sunset sweep
#3: Orange lining
#4: Clouds
#5: Moar Gold
#6: Purple Rain
#7: Thunderstorm over Sierras

Thanks, Brad!
As for another crop for #7... I kinda like the fence, since it's my favorite sunset vista. Besides, I don't like losing 2:3 ratio without severe reason and if I squeezed it any tighter I'd lose some compositional structure or some secondary, but important elements.

The thing is, we have a very particular coastal line here, with high hills (Santa Monica Mountains) on the South and Sierra foothills on the North. Add a couple of valleys (Conejo Valley and Moorpak/Simi valley) and you get a natural rule for colud formation (that is, if there are any) that perfectly "follows the sunset".

There was no thunder, at least for me. The whole action was dozens miles away, I don't think sound travels that far even if there was one (for some reason local thunderstorms are mostly silent even if they happen).

Thanks Phil!
We don't get it often here, but sometimes we do get it good

Sorry, I'm in la LA land... I would go to SF for a fat paid gig (or SM/Dgrin anniversary;-), but other than that it's way out of my area...
