I went from being completely exasperated with shooting at night for the exercise to really enjoying the experience. I rarely shoot at night but I am going to see to it that that changes. It's a whole new world.

These are some of my other night shots.

I like the lady "en la botanica"!

Should have went in and shot some stuff in there.. or were you spooked out?

IIRC, one of your first shots here was a night shot of your neighborhood, and it was terrific. These are all good, but #3 stands out. thumb.gif

    Thank you.
I've been wanting to do a shot like this for a while--it just worked out much better than I thought in the dark.

I'm hispanic, how can I get spooked by a botanica? rolleyes1.gif

Actually when I first moved back to NYC I was shopping for my mother in laws bday gift about 10 yrs ago, and I went into what I thougt was a candle shop in Harlem. I went in asking for a candle for her birthday, the lady at the counter asked "how long has she been dead?" so I took a few steps back outside and looked up at the sign on the door:)

My mother in law still tell that story.

    Richard,
I remember the shot well--it's this one.

I remember it because I was thinking to myself, "if you can't get any shots at night, I may have to go back to this corner".:) it worked for me once.

    Thanks Richard.

That's funny.. we once did a warrant in the Bronx and the lady had all kinds of stuff in the house.. candles everywhere.. I was way more freaked out than my partner- who was a Cuban-Jew!

Great shots Liz. #3 really jumps out at me.

    ... I'm still peeling potatoes.
