Howdy All,

Went to the Amon Carter Museum over the Weekend to
see the Ansel Adams traveling Exhibits.

Needless to say, it didn't disappoint :D and
he's one of my Favorite Artists.

Saw this view of Downtown Fort Worth from the Second Floor.

Thanks for Looking.

hey, I've been there! alas, lightroom failed to import all my photos so I haven't much to share, but for a wanna be town in the midst of TEXAS, it's a pretty good museum!

Yikes Leah, had to delete the first 4 or 5 things I wanted to say,

Not sure if you didn't have a nice visit or weren't made to feel Welcome,
but I don't think most Folks from Fort Worth would be very appreciative
of your comments, either tongue in cheek or not.

I'd say the Amon Carter is a little more than a pretty good Museum, as their Museum Information page states

    Highlights from the Collection

The Amon Carter Museum opened in January 1961 to house the collection of western art amassed by Fort Worth publisher and philanthropist Amon G. Carter Sr. (1879–1955). Expanding on Mr. Carter’s original collection of 400 paintings, drawings, and works of sculpture by Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell—the single most important collection of works by these artists—the museum now encompasses a wide range of nineteenth- and twentieth-century American paintings, drawings, prints, and sculpture, as well as photographs from the early days of the medium to the present.

Quite a different view of downtown Fort Worth here, Craig. That museum sounds like a place I could really spend some time in. I'm fascinated by the works of Russell and Remington....in fact, some Remington prints form the center section on a wall of my own meager collection.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Very nice shot. I know it's not snow, so it causes me to study it much more closely. I need to learn more about IR.

Have you taken any of/inside the Kimball? I love that building.

    Howdy Curt,

Thanks, IR renders green grass and leave white, since the White Balance is
set to green grass on modded IR Cameras.

Nice view from there Craig, I'll have to get down there to shoot the sunset on downtown from the steps some evening!

    Howdy Randy,

Thanks, I think the view from the top of the steps up by the
    door will get better and
better when the leaves are off the trees.

Never seen an IR photo taken from the inside looking out. Works good. I even like the lady/man sitting on the bench on the outside...or is that a reflection from the inside headscratch.gif First I thought it was a statue rolleyes1.gif

    Howdy Mary,

Thanks, it was a shot that I'd actually taken before, and was anxious
to try it again, was still a little difficult with all the reflections.

That's was a Friend down in the lower corner waiting for me to get through so we could go eat lunch:D:D:D

Interesting perspective and use of IR. Looks to be quite the facility and its "court yard" positively huge. Must be nice to have something like that close
at hand and to see what tours come thru. Our museum is quite small but they
work diligently to present to the public.

    Howdy Michael,

Thanks very much, it really is a very nice museum, it's in a row of 3
which really gives a full rounded experience on Art and Sculpture.
    Take care,
