    Jeff,

The biggest problem right now is these are framed way too loosely. There's way too much uninteresting dead space. I would also suggest shooting portrait orientation - especially for shots like this. THe second problem then becomes getting some details to show up - these shots are a bit underexposed. You either need to bump up the ISO (can't really drop shutter speed down below 1/400) or add a flash. You really want to see facial details.

Next is the angle - you're shooting from behind the quarterback - you want to be a bit in front of him (really at the line of scrimmage) for shots like this so you get more of his face framed. Here's a shot with the first two components (although I'm still behind him here - couldn't get forward anymore because it was the players' area):

I'm sure I could dig up a QB pic at night more strait on, but you get the idea.

White Balance a bit weird and under exposed a bit. But keep practicing! Looks in focus so that is a good thing.

Thanks for the replys. As of now I have no post processing software so I'm just trying to make good pictures in the camera. Later on I'm going to try doing some post processing.
I'm shooting from the side lines so I am trying to stay out of the way.
As for the white balance, the camera was set on the Florescent setting. thats another issue I need to learn about, so please bare with me.

Try the Lightroom 3 Trial Download. This will get your feet wet with PP. It will also help recover WB and exposure issues. Try to shoot in RAW if you can.
