getting closer to the raptors...

I've been attempting to shoot raptors for several weeks now with little success.
Quick update on my progression: First I had to know where and when to find them. Once I had that down (9am-12noon SJWS or Bolsa. I'm sure they come again in the afternoon--I just havent been there during that time span yet) the trick was then to work on my stalking and my in flight photo technique... both are very much still a work in progress
Now that I had a rough idea where and when to locate the birds, they started showing up in my photos...as small flying specks 100 ft high.
Thus my current stage of learning raptor shooting: learning to get closer. I hope you enjoy a glimpse into my learning curve and thanks for any helpful suggestions you may have.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
