Play for the Cure (Field Hockey)

A week or so ago, two of the local schools used one of their games to raise money to support the fight against breast cancer. Both teams wore a lot of pink. One of the teams created jerseys which they had people sponsor and place names of cancer survivors/battlers on the shirts; the other team had balloon sponsored with the names, raffles... All told, the girls raised about $4,400.

Was a really nice evening. The sun was still up, but setting, during these pictures of the JV game.

Ocassionally you catch a penalty the ref's missed! (The defenders - in black- are supposed to wait behind the endline until the ball is put into play.)
