Did not have my camera today, but the scene just begged to be shot and I got my cellphone camera out--what's that saying "the best camera....."

Anyone is welcome to add their street cellphone shots to this thread. I will likely be adding to it myself periodically.

Gotta admire the Amish. They live, and live well, without so many of the modern conveniences that we (or at least I) consider essential to living. It must be overwhelming for them when they come to the city. Heck. *I* get overwhelmed when I go to a city of any significant size. All that said...

I like number 2 better. The look on the face of the pedestrian walking toward you is what draws me in. Number 1 feels like a lineup to me. They're both very good catches, don't get me wrong. Number 2 just calls to me a little more.

Though I would have burst out laughing if they were standing in front of a Radio Shack.

Nice. I prefer the first one because you can see more faces clearly.

Nice shots Liz. I like #1 best, but am a little distracted by the OOF woman in the lower left. Love the expression on the lady's face on the far right, gotta wonder what she was thinking! Cell phone cameras can be quite handy!

Shot number one was a lineup :D, they literally lined up did a little headcount and then walked very organized down the street around the corner and into the Empire State Building. What I like about shot #1 is the look on their faces, some of the women have these sweet smiles on their faces. I think they are probably used to being stared at and photographed.
In shot nubmer two, the one little lady in the front was bending over backwards to see the empire state building.

Me too actually--it's the faces and smiles which draw me in on that shot.
I also like the sideways glance of the lady in the back as she passes the group.

I know! I should crop her out right? I won't be able to crop her out entirely because I don't want to crop out any of the Amish ladies.

Also, and this is just me, I was hoping to get a fast blurred shot of someone just walking past them. NYC is so fast paced everyone just sped by this slow walking group. I don't think I managed to pull off what I hoped.

I like #1 -- the camera gave an interesting feel to the scene. And do not touch that OOF woman!
