Bridal Veil Falls, Telluride, CO

Here is another photo from our Colorado Colors Trip. We had only planned to go into Telluride to see the town, but ended up 4-wheeling up the switchbacks toward the falls. Had to make a few 3-point turns to make the turns and the road was rocky. We almost turned around, but decided to take a few more switchbacks until we came to the base of Bridal Veil. Wow....what a site. I scambled down off the road to set up this shot. Having the falls in the shade really helped but the sun was harsh against the cloudless sky, so I used a .9 ND grad to reduce the exposure of the sky.

Thanks E! I suppose I could have underexposed the sky in PE, but I'm just not much of a photoshop user....just a bit of tweaking in iphoto.

Nice work! Any photographer can recognize what a tricky lighting situation this is and you executed it perfectly.

Awesome Trey....we are out in this area every year. We traverse Black Bear down the one way switchbacks from the Hwy 550 over to Telluride. You did some scrambling around to get this shot. Now next year I am going to have to figure out your spot and try it without landing on beazer......thanks for sharing this different angle of the falls.
