Got up early for sunrise meeting with the local sandhills.

    Lovely series - totally worth getting up early for.
    I particularly like the corn toss. Is that sort of behavior usual when the cranes dance?

    Yes it is a display they do, they will pick up sticks or other objects and throw them jump up and down falp the wings or get down low to the ground. Courting display or just practice. Most times it looks like they are just having a good time. They were really active early on but the light was not there to get the shots without lots of blur. Really need to get me a D3s(Dreaming of lottery win)
