Jeff, I love those shots, because I like owls. Good lord, they are here, too, but I don't know where. Early for me to sound intelligent.mwink.gif

Now, the beamer? It is an attachment for the fill flash, is that correct???

How does it get way up there?
    Any flash?

And funny I must like the beamer as I like the first bird best, the second seems a bit "flashed". I would have thought it would be the opposite.

I have heard of this "beamer" thing, if it is going to be around a lot in discussions I will ask "what is it? please, oh masters?".

How did you find the owls????
After all is said and done, it is the sweet tea.

What an amazing looking bird! Perhaps the first shot would benefit from being lightened a bit to use more of your available contrast on the owl? I'd start off doing this by steepening the L curve from the light side and then targeting the steepness to the eyes and feathers. But of course there are any number of other ways to do it.
    If not now, when?

Nice job Jeff the musket man. I'm a bit confused..though. With this gas shortage and high prices...what are you driving a "beamer" for? DOesn't that get expensive? rolleyes1.gif I'm starting to wonder if you and Ben are really two different dudes? I think maybe you're just one slightly schizo.... machine gunning.... wild 'n' crazy Cali guy? headscratch.gif **jk**. I never go shooting in my backyard with anyone. Hmmm that gives me an idea. headscratch.gifrolleyes1.gif

Well done....even if you used one of them there Nikon guns. thumb.gif Did you slip on a TC? :uhoh

    Cheers

G the beamer is a attachment that takes 2 pieces of plastic and another a magnifier goes on the flash and shoots it out farther next time Ben and i will take a shot of it or ben can take it with his other camera .the second bird is shot in very brite light and both shots had no work done on them it was late and we [ben and i ]wanted to show the beamer and the difference in the 2 cameras same shot ne_nau.gif any way we will give a pic story the beamer :uhoh Ben never takes it off

I think I've seen that owl before. :D Interesting demonstration of the BB. How far were you away from that poor owl?

I have to advise you that I have reported you to PETA. Flashing a bright light in an owl's face, what cruelty. rolleyes1.gif
