The use of a camera is similar to that of a knife. You can use it to peel potatoes, or carve a flute. ~ E. Kahlmeyer

I like this shot. Now I'm just trying to figure out why I like it. Normally I'm not a fan of a "noisy" photo, but this one works well. I think it's the fact that there's a guy looking at a movie poster. But the noise in the photo makes me think that I'm watching a movie, too. I guess, for me, it's almost a perfect storm. Without the noise, I definitely wouldn't be as interested in the pic. Knowing me, I'd probably be more interested in what kind of camera he had (am I bad for asking that?)! And the reflection in the glass...Awesome! You pulled me in!
You have a very good eye for this stuff, Patti. I love seeing what you can come up with!
Looks cinematic.

Did you process and save this as a TIFF file? This caught my eye more than the remainder of the shot, which is a little too grainy/noisy for my tastes.

I used a dark red filter for daytime shots to take it down to 400 and without for night/indoor shots. The jury is still out. This may be too much grain even for me. I also noted that they were generally flat, lacking contrast despite the filter used. I had to jack the contrast and black via LR3. Lots to learn with film.
Here are a couple more from the rolls.

I see what you mean Patti - that is a lot of grain but it works for the second example. I am trying out some 800 this weekend. I'll post when I get it back.
