First real photo from my new camera. Made these chips at work making a stainless steel gizmo on the lathe. Thought they looked so cool I saved them for later. Here is a shot of them using a long snoot to light it.

1/200 f57 ISO 800 with my 105 Micro VR

    I love making shavings :D OK, I'd have to go back a long way to my days running a lathe.

    Only comment is the image looks soft. Perhaps a bit more DOF or focus farther in so more of the image is in focus.

    Need to try more with this one. Something may be amiss with this lens. It went up to f57? WTH? Says it right on the EXIF data. I don't remember that with this thing. But I am mostly in the f2.8-f9 range. Need to test this out.

    I just kept cranking down the aperture looking for more DOF. Some Ting Wong here?
