Obviously nobody liked them... what about another type of crop - or, it's all wrong? headscratch.gif

    1041239440_Duygq-L-1.jpg

    or maybe this?

    1046504254_XDX5c-L.jpg

I'd like to have another opinion please, about the concept at least. Am I on the wrong direction?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Thank you Joice and Mark.

I like the red too but I was afraid actually of:

I hear ya! Perhaps you ( as me?) are misinterpreting Sean's quote there. We all interpret so very differently, judge differently, create differently.

Theme is of course, of the greatest import, secondary to that, a stunning piece of work. I think your Red Wheel, fits nicely into both theme and work. It is simple,. It is of one tone, which I adore. it has wonderful shadow play. And it is a very old rudimentary invention.

You always seem to be afraid of what the theme is supposed to be or what it implies. Just let go and let it be what you want it to be and what it speaks to you as being. Both of your images fit perfectly within the theme. When I said I was hoping to see peoples creative side that certainly does not mean they need to manufacture an image; it just means that you need to look within yourself for the creative spark that leads to invention. mwink.gif

Thank you Tom again! I think you should change your signature to "Tom the Wise" rolleyes1.gif

    - ... in addition I always try if possible, to follow the path of least resistance mwink.gif, so why go complicated? ne_nau.gif

I'll see if I can come with something else - if not, the red wheel will be it thumb.gif

    #2 is excellent!

I think what Sean is saying is that this theme doesn't have to be just about an invention or about the process of invention, but it can also be a photographic invention - a creative photographic idea.

I am also hoping to see someone enter something along the lines of "the invention of a false story " as misterb pointed out here: http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=179922]. I could see a lovely portrait of a storyteller, young or old.

Yeah... a false story - something that's not true, I was thinking about and I had some ideas already...
oh, I need a kid to pose and don't have A-N-Y... And/or, I need at least some clear, blue sky, cause my objects are supposed to fly too... :D

ha, ha, but I know that when we really want something, it comes, so watch-out!!! mwink.gif

I like the wheel. You might want to crop or clone out the bit of cordor wire in the bottom left. Otherwise it's very theme-worthy!

If you decide to go with the CD, maybe call it, "Reinventing the Wheel". :D

    Thank you Karin and WhatSheSaw

"Reinventing the wheel" was the thought that made me looking for wheels :D but I didn't want to use the same term
    as the theme...

While thinking of this concept, I just saw the laptop and I said "Eureka!" - this is sooo fantastic! We are all so used
with the computers, but we only think about them in terms of 010101... we don't think too much that actually those square boxes have a wheel inside :D what a fantastic invention it was!!!

Thank you Chris for the suggestion!

I left that line deliberately there, because it's parallel with other lines in the picture and it gives a more authentic feel to the image, I think... headscratch.gif

Here is the version without the line:

So funny, Tatiana! I was thinking of the wheel too. Before I had the chance to work with it though, I went on to something else. Good luck with whichever you choose.

The wheel is such a common think, and I'm sure many others may have thought of it, not only me mwink.gif

Good luck with whichever you choose, too thumb.gif

#3 is looking mighty good. thumb.gif I alsolike the 60's vibe you've given it and love how just a little bit of the foot shows on the pedal. Is a retake possible, by any chance? It would be neat to see more of the shadow.

Thank you Linda. That was a street shot - I took tones of them but very few to consider. I'll look trough them,
but the alley was quite narrow and the shadows went out on the grass - I noticed this and I should have stopped
shooting in that place... maybe I'll find another place.

However, I also have other ideas. I'm working on them :D

I really like the last crop of the laptop, it looks like a promotional ad from the late '90s or something. Super cool and I like the colors and angle.

I also like the simplicity of the cropped red, especially the interesting shadows it's throwing... the shadow revealing more about the structure of the invention (train car brake?) than the head-on photo does.

Neither of the second round really cut it for me.

Thank you red_zone I agree, and I like more the ones in the first round too.

I'll see if I can come with something better, but I kinda doubt...
