A weekend in the Alps

Hi all! I spent a glorious weekend in the Alps in early October. Along with a couple of friends I hiked to a pasture (with no cattle though as the grazing season had already ended) on Saturday afternoon, just in time to catch the last sun rays illuminating the cabins.

Early next morning four more friends arrived and at the same time we could hear extremely loud and angry roaring ... by a bear! The beast was somewhere quite close! The views almost made me forget about it for a few seconds. ;)

4. The fog in the valley kept rising, but it never reached us.

6. Mt. Triglav, the highest Slovenian mountain.

7. After a hearty breakfast we finally set off towards our goal of the day: Mt. Mala Ticarica.

8. The hike across the woods and pastures was very pleasant, especially when we didn't hear the bear's howling any more. :)

15. We were too early for the truly golden larches, but that's just a convenient excuse to go back later. :D

On Monday morning we headed back to the valley. Don't you just love the fall in the mountains? :D

Thanks everybody for your kind comments and sorry for the late reply! Since the time I wrote this post, I went climbing one more time and then we got first snow in the mountains, so no more climbing trips this year for me. ne_nau.gif I'm still hoping to do some hiking, there's nothing more beautiful than exploring snow-clad mountain scenery. :D

These are awesome! The first few with the fog are magical. Wish I had somewhere that close by I could go to. :)

#5 is grabing my attention and the cabins!!!!! What a feeling that must have been to see that scene before you just begging to be shot.

    Cheers Hobbsy
