Some might recognize the truck in the background from a previous submission. Does this one have any merit? Tighter crop on the girl/line/shadow? The power lines sort of kill it for me on first pass.

Relax, BD. Cloning is just a highly sophisticated form of dodging and burning that operates at the pixel level.

i have to say though, my favorite part is the not so nice looks on the other cheerleaders faces.

If it were mine I'd consider serious crop on the left. To me theres nothing there and it would off center

Richard, I understand what you are saying about being Street PJ - lines/poles are just part of the experience.
As a side note, she started her run at the firetruck and ran straight down the double yellow towards me. She did one pass that I missed, then I setup for the second pass. I had three or four other shots of various backside/frontside while she did the flips and I just got lucky on this one being almost perfectly straight up/vertical.
I decided to do a crop as mentioned AND get rid of the lines for grins.
What's your preference? Original at the top or this one?
Leave in the wires - they are part of the scene, as is the firetruck.
I agree with Richard about the crop. I really love the expressions on the faces of the standing cheerleaders and rather wish that the upside down young woman weren't centered in the frame, but you lose some of the story if you crop it in too tight. I especially like being able to see the shadow.
Just a thought. Since the original post is already a crop, have you thought about going back to the original and recropping?

I still like the original better. As Richard mentioned, it's more balanced and I'm coming to realize there's little point in cleaning out lines. They were there and are part of the recorded event.
I'll look at at taking the original and doing a more standard crop to see what happens.
And yes, I also thought the shadow had some value, but hey - when you want to see the other side of the fence, why not go all out? lol...
Again, thanks and I'll work on version #3 tonight.
Perhaps with the cropping experimentation, try the aspect ratio of #2 BUT do not lose any of the vertical (thus effectively just cropping the cab of the fire engine and decentering the subject without placing her on the edge).
Now, here's the LINK for the uncropped version (7.5MB). I took the .nef (raw) file and did a few color tweaks, then exported to a .jpg without cropping. Please feel free to play with it and post it back here. I'd love to see what everyone thinks how it should/could look.
Looking forward to seeing what others come up with!
