Engagement Pics

Hi all,
One of my daughters is getting married and asked me to take their engagement pics. This is something that I have never done before and was pretty hesitant to do it. But in an effort to help them save some money, I agreed. In the end, they are happy, so I am happy.

    I'd recognize that park anywhere! I shot a wedding there in 2006...

    All in all I think you did a good job, for your first time. But pay more attention to light next time, and study posing as well. Both of these are the two aspects of portraiture that require serious practice and studying.

    (Whenever I lecture on the subject of portraiture, I break it down into four aspects of the image that either make or break an image. Composition, timing, light, and pose. The more factors you have going for you in a portrait, the more impact it has. And each of us has strengths and weaknesses, of course...

    Thanks Matthew! I would have some serious learning to do if I was to shoot more of this kind of photography. Your picture is very nice!
