I love the first two pictures of the grebe, although they make me incredibly sad for that beautiful bird.
    Thanks for sharing!

    Thanks,
We have natural oil seepage around here. I usually don't find tar covered birds, this is the first one I've seen down here. As for #6 it was foggy this morning making it easer to shoot with the busy background as it kinda muted it :D

    Thanks,
It is sad, I was kinda wondering why this bird was out of the water since you never see them out of the water. I finally got my answer after watching this one try and walk back to the water. The poor thing fell at ever step he took.

Oh? Hummm I've always heard people around here call them western grebes but who knows about what they know. How ever when i look at photos of the two the Western grebe has a yellow beak with black around the eyes where as the Clarks has a yellow beak with white around the eyes. So ya are right thanks for the correction :D.

    Thanks :D

A set of very good images. I love the western grebe, I wish we had some of them in myh neck of the woods. On the first two captures you mibht try to recrop them. There's a bit too much sky above their heads.

    Nice work Erika.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I have to say that I loved the Grebe images, this is one that I have never captured and would love to see one of these. They are very neat looking.
