Tried my 500d canon closeup lens on my 24-70 lens. I was shooting some flowers and thought I would give it a try on this lens to see if it worked. It is really made for focal ranges more than 70. I found out why. Distortion and vingettes.....I love it. What do you guys think?

At 24mm up close, my dog Boo. 1/2000 f2.8 ISO8000

Cool shots. I kinda like the way the narrow DOF made the nearest parts of his face in focus, but blurred the farther parts. It's especially cool looking in #2, where it draws attention immediately to his nose.

The distortion isn't terribly noticeable unless you're looking for it, but the vignetting looks cool, too.

#2 would look better if it were cropped tighter on his face. Of course, you'd lose the vignetting if you did that, but you could easily re-create the vignette effect in Photoshop after you crop.
What I said when I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time: "The wide ain't wide enough and the zoom don't zoom enough!"
