Gallery Keywords

I'm a little confused as to the purpose of gallery keywords. Are these important to have and should they be a combination of all the keywords for all images within the gallery, or a more general smaller set of keywords?
Thanks, Chip

I have my bio keywords listed with this code:
<meta name="description" content="kewyords........." />
Is this the best way? and, how many keywords do you think I should put on in my bio box?
Thanks for the help on this!

Fill your homepage meta AND your Bio box with a short description - about 120 char. Otherwise you will see the usual Smugmug spam "Billions of happy photos....." in your popular photos, feeds and other places.
Also be sure to add a description to all your galleries, and caption to all your photos.
There is however no way to get rid of all the Smugmug spam Meta keywords (photo sharing, online photo album.....) - to minimize it - add something to your gallery keyword etc.

Not true, no need to fill anything in the bio if you don't want to - if you use the homepage and site meta in your control panel. We'll use that info. If that info is not present, AND there's nothing in the gallery description, we'll use our meta (billions of happy photos...).

Well, Andy.
You better check out this page: http://southwestliz.smugmug.com/popular/
and countless other popular pages.
Google says about Meta Descriptions: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35264#1
"create descriptions that accurately describe the specific page"
"Billions of happy photos..." is hardly an accurate description of any page except the SM home page.
"Billions of happy photos..." should not be added to any customer page. It is just spam.
The same with the spam meta keywords - why have you added these again?

Actually, I have the same problem as Allan Hansen above. I'm using homepage and site meta and my "most popular" gallery is still showing up on Google Alerts with the "billions" wording.
How can I get rid of those SmugMug words in all Google searches including Most Popular, etc.?
Thank you.
