Very nice set of three capturing moments of sharing between the subjects. I particularly like the first with the unabashed crying, the dutiful mother, and the "been there" grandmother.

    Thanks Benjamin and Patti.

Patti - I think you nailed it. I'm pretty sure that the woman on the right was the grandmother.

Benjamin, for me,t #2 is also the strongest. Would you be surprised to know that the two are not related? The man got off the bus alone shortly after I took the photo and the child continued to sleep. He was still sleeping when we got off the bus. I'm pretty sure that a woman across the isle with another youngster was responsible for the worn out little boy.

I like the intimacy you've captured in all three of these. The conversions are stellar too. If I have to pick a favourite I pick #2 but #1 also draws me back for another look.

    ... I'm still peeling potatoes.

The title alone made me drool.
I saw it on my phone screen and knew I had to wait to comment til I saw them large.
#1 and #2 are just bowdown.gif. I know #1 is tilted, but I don't know it works anyway. It's a scene from my last weekend--my daughter was losing it, I was trying hard to be patient and I had my mother next to me telling me I wasn't raising her right that I needed a sterner hand. This shot went right through me.

#3 is the least favorite I guess, but had you posted it alone, it would have still gotten rave reviews, but compared to 1 and 2, well it doesn't hold a candle.

lol, makes me want to run right out and shoot some more.

#2 specially given that they are not related!

Do people ever object when they realize you took their picture? I guess I'm still shy to be "in your face".

#2 for me. The shot just seems to have a higher level of relationships.

Number 1 and 3 are the best.

That kid in shot one looks like a ear-shattering howl..

Terrific set. If forced to choose I guess I would also go with #2, but fortunately we can see them all. Excellent captures and conversions as well. clap.gifclap.gif

Thank you everyone. I'm glad you enjoyed some or all of the pictures.

Re #2, I really have no idea what the man was thinking - which I think makes the photo. At the time I took the picture the child had just slumped over onto his arm and I thought he was the papa.

As for in your face shooting, I'm not good at it actually. I try very hard to remain unobtrusive. Sometimes I use live view (so my 7D isn't at eye level) and click the shutter while there is lots of ambient noise. Sometimes I just raise my camera and click. Sometimes I shoot from my lap. My best photos are the ones I am compelled to take even though I am uncomfortable doing so. (Though not all are successful, or course!)

Thanks for letting me know. I do some of the same things too. Live view, shooting from the hip blind etc.
