    Thanks guys!thumb.gif
And yes, I think Pacific plays a great deal in that for me. Having an unobstructed view to ocean horizon, especially from a relatively elevated position (I think my vista point is at leat 600..700 ft above sea level) is very likely a sine qua non condition...

Clearly I'm outta the loop... This is a sunset and some sort of 'burst'???
    Me don't understand it, Nik.

I don't know, Nik. You sure that wasn't North Korea doing some testing? mwink.gif

From what little I know of the North West (starting at NorCal and up), you guys are getting way more humidity in the air than we do here in SoCal. Under those conditions the chances to get a glimpse of green are fairly abysmal, it simply can not pass :-( ne_nau.gif

That's really interesting! The only time we see any green in the sky here in southwestern PA is when we're about to possibly have a tornado! So the red is the light reflected on the actual ocean, and the green is in hte sky?

Greenish tint in the skies is fairly common, especially in the Northern territories. This thing is the edge of the sun itself.
