From drawing to prototype

hi there,
ok so 56 views and no comments--it was about to be 57 and no comments, but I figured I would try to put into words why it was hard to comment for me.
While I like the shot, maybe it's the title that's confusing as I don't see a drawing anywhere.
Also the pp where part of it is silver the other part gold is confusing to me--I feel as though I'm missing something. The second PP version is even odder, the silver part looks futuristic and the gold part looks like something from the past--the funny thing is I like it--but I don't get it.

I suspect the drawing reference is the "blue-To" component/s.

I do like the imagine I just didn't get it, but the "blue to" explanation helps.

Thanks Liz. And yes, Tom, that's what it's supposed to be. This is another one where the photo doesn't look like the image in my head! I was attempting to make a transition from a blueprint type drawing to the actual photo, but not being so great with photoshop, the drawing end, well, doesn't look very "drawn". I was happy that I got a smooth transition, but I guess I need to look for an action or something that will convert the photo to a drawing & try again. And I don't know that it really matters, but the shot is of the inside/back of an anniversary clock.

Thanks Tom! I didn't see this earlier (just jumped down to the last post). I still wish the blueprint side looked more "drawing-ish".

I have no idea if it's possible ....But I think you achieved it with Color. Which to me, makes you a very crafty soul. Using color to send a message versus spelling it out is right up there!

Thank you for all the great tuts Tatiana!! Just what I was looking for but haven't had the time yet. And thanks again Tom - I appreciate your thoughts. I'm happy with the one I entered, but may play with it some over the weekend to see if I can make the image more fit my mind's eye.

Very creative approach to the theme. I like the more drawing like aspect of your last version, but prefer the blueprint toning of the first images. Any way to blue tone the last version?
