I like the first and fourth shots. The start looks crazy! Love to see that from the GoPro perspective. Nine is pretty cool too but would be better if we were looking at him and not his back.

Anyone wanting to shoot motocross and wanting critique should just look at these photos. Definition of professional and publishable, any one of them. Sharp and crisp, perfect cropping, focal point of shot is right where you want it, colors bright and saturated. Excellent set.
Thanks, I appreciate the comments! I was using a Nikon D90 and a Sigma 70-200 f/2.8. I noticed that the 70-200 has started to back focus and I had to try and compensate for it. Good thing that it is still under warranty. Im looking to upgrade from the D90 soon as well. I would like a D700, but a D300s is more in my price range.
Ian- The b&w photo of Trey Canard from behind would have been better from the front, but I had to run halfway across the track to get the finish in time. I got there right as he crossed the finish and all that I could get was a shot from behind. I tried moving up but he started riding towards the podium already. I have a shot of him and his mom togother as well. I think Im going to print it out and give it to his mom when the supercross season starts. Trey has been through a lot, so it was an emotional victory. Tear jerker for sure.
Yeah, Im hoping to shoot at Oakland. If not, I'll definitely be there in the stands to watch anyways. Im bummed they moved it from SF too. I like SF's stadium a lot better than Oakland. I guess something came up about a contract between Feld (the people that put on SX) and the SF stadium. They just couldn't come to an agreement so they moved.
I'm in for Vegas to, just not sure if I'll be shooting there either. SX has a lot less room to move around in so they really limit the amount of photogs out there.
Yeah, small world indeed! I've been working for Blair and MXA for the past 3 months or so. I got hooked up with him, believe it or not, through Facebook. haha.
excellent images for all the reasons photogbiker said!! nice to see that sigma do the job. on the D300 you can use the microadjustment tool to compensate for the back focusing issue. just have to do the testing and make the adjustment in camera. the D90 doesnt have that option?

Are you going to OAK? I can't believe SX won't be in SF this year. A bunch of us are thinking about Vegas this year as well.
