Just two snaps from a recent stroll in Tonsbridge, England. Tonsbridge is a small town 40 minutes south of London.

really like both of them because of the warm colours! Gorgeous. Were these taken at around dawn?

Well if you get to work in this area, I'm very jealous indeed! It was just a quick visit to a mate of mine who lives there, but the countryside is really breathtaking. Next time I'm there I definitely want to shoot more country...and castles...there's one on every corner!
Thanks for looking,
Kevin K.
Thanks for the comments Bear...yes the lighting was very beautiful. I woke up just before dawn to catch some sweet light - makes all those other unsuccessful early morning starts worth it though doesn't it?
Cheers mate,
Kevin K.
Hi Vince,
Sorry I forgot to mention the shooting details: yes it was an early weekend morning shoot, well before any of the town's inhabitants were rising. I used my trusty Sony 717, custom WB, ISO 100, f4, speed probably around 1/125. In post, I did the usual: levels, USM to make the buildings pop, and then did a selective very slight guassian blur on the sky/water to really make the buildings stand out a bit more. I also tried to bring out a bit more of the rising sun's colors in the top left/bottom left with just a bit of a gradient yellow.
Thanks for looking,

Hi Erich,
Indeed it was a most peacfull scene - one of the advantages of dragging yourself out of that nice warm bed and into the chilly morning air!
Thanks for the comments,
Kevin K.
Hi Fred,
One of the things I love about the Sony 717 is the great color rendition it is capable of...I don't think I did more than a 2 or 3+ Master saturation bump for this image.
Thanks for taking the time to look,
Kevin K.
