I keep coming back to this pic, there is just something about it but I'm not sure if it's worth keeping. What do you think?

I know exactly how you feel. So often there seems to be images that we really WANT to work but they just are not quite there. I think it's one of those "almost images."

There are some nice elements like the texture of the steps vs the smooth hand rail with it's spherical joints and also the shadow pattern from the hand rail. More hand rail shadow on the left might be helpful if this is cropped from a larger image.

Converted to B&W with 100% red filter with some darkening afterward might be interesting to try. But over all there doesn't seem to be enough going on in the image although it's generally a pleasant shot.
