    Tom:

You spent sooooo much time on the original and it's now perfection! I'd stick with that one. It looks great!

#2 is an awesome image, but #1 is more thematic, I think. ne_nau.gif

Really like the re-worked original - it's put together very nicely. I'd say it's puzzling (pun intended), but it's really just awesome!

The first one turned out very nicely :D

    - I think it still needs a little bit of shadow around the base of the chandelier - it looks a little like
overimposed, rather than standing on the table.

Save #2 for a local exhibit or contest. It's fabulous! I really like the lighting.

But leave #1 as your entry for the challenge. deal.gif You nailed all the little nits and it came out terrific. thumb.gif

I agree. Go with the first, but add a little bit of dimension to the candlestick so it doesn't look like it's just floating in over the table.

Nice image, might be just a little hot on her face, but that's not much of an issue.

My entry is in the Gallery!

I appreciate all of you, and all the help I received, just nit-n and pic-n.

It is not easy to tell someone there stuff ain't quite right, so just wanted to let you know that the time you take matters to me. Cliche': Two heads, better than one. And here I have a goldmine of aid.

All of this is heuristic. By the time we get to the deadline, I have much, much better ways to do what I tried to do at first. And...and by that time, I am definitely ready to move on to another challenge, another photo, another work.

Uh..no..It comes natural to me..and I ain't kiddin! Prob. for many of us!

It is though what happens when one is not quite up to snuff in the process, we often over-think it.. Like many folks around here I have an artistic enough eye . What I do not have is ten years experience, which is I figure about the mean avg. to achieve mastery in a given skill-set. 7 to go!! Woo-Hoo!

It hasn't helped that I just got the Adobe suite this year, and 'almost' refuse to use PS/CS4. I am busy learning Flash, illustrator, AE and .....drag me to the edge, PS!

But Challenge...ain't that what it's about? It is for me!

You sell yourself short. I don't even come close to being able to do all that PS'ing.

    You're a Kind commentator!

I don't think I sell myself short. I think it's the truth! How many things have we done, and when done, we knew we could do better and easier if we had to do over. It's like that.

If I had to do this one over I would shoot it very differently. For Instance. I would shoot the table top from straight above and slide it below the woman in the photo. If I were to actually have a puzzle, I would shoot that on the table too. It seemed like a simple project in conception, but as it coalesced, I saw how something as simple as conflicting lighting-color-direction was causing all sorts of issues.

I am glad I did it, because it showed my shortcomings...and that gives me a direction to work on!

And speaking of PS'ing... How's that going? I've seen a little of your work, and it ain't bad! And wheres your Challenge entry?

My entry is the Slinky. You've seen it.

I seem to log in as both SeascapeS and SandiZ. I don't know how that happens.

I have the eye, a little bit of creativity, know very little technique, but I'll keep shooting until I'm satisfied. I know that I've progressed a lot since starting the challenges and hope to go much further. I love pushing myself and I see that you do too.
