For some reason, I'm taking more pictures lately than ever before.. last Sunday I went out with some friends to take some pictures of the city I've lived in whole my life, but never really appreciated much.. I guess many can relate to that..

To my surprise, some pictures turned out OK-ish..

This little girl was really bored, her parents were performing/making music and selling CDs on the street

Next we went into the Cathedral.. I was just trying to shoot the lights, suddenly some elder lady came to lit a candle, I couldn't resist taking the shot (it's probably a very classic image)

I like the next shot as well, I think it's because of the lines..

All comments are welcome, I'm just starting out and would like to improve..

Thank you.

    Hey Tom,

It's a great idea to try to look at what you see everyday with fresh eyes. Not always easy but the results can be surprising. I think the first two could have used a little more context to work as street shots.

    Hi Tom,
I like the look you captured on the little girl in #1, I too would have liked to have seen a bit more of her surroundings to see what's going on.
I live in NYC so I am familiar with parents setting up on the street selling cds, dvds of current movies etc and dragging the kids along. I think if you work the scene a little more next time you could really come out with a major winner.

Keep paying attention to your everyday scenes, they can make for stellar street shots.

Thank you both for these comments, I do appreciate them a lot. To be honest, I'm not sure how I could've put focus on the girl with her parents in the picture as well. Her parents were extremely colorful, I was afraid the girl would've been lost in that scene..

Obviously I need to learn/see/interpret more! The upside is.. I'm really enjoying myself!

And that is the beginning of becoming a street/PJ forum shooter. Now you have to figure out how to get that shot and start looking for others. And it is a wonderful journey!
