I had the honor of shooting my best friend's little sister and her fiance for their engagement shots this past weekend. My first time seeing the location was showing up for the shoot, nothing like keeping fingers crossed for beautiful weather planning a shoot 6 weeks in advance and 400 miles away from home.

I'm insanely proud of these, but as always, C&C welcome!

1. She was playing with the grass and it was perfect, a slight move of her eyes and voila'. I sent this to her sister and she she claimed it made her tear up.

2. Couldn't resist that yummy light.

3. If they don't blow this one up, I will.

4. 95% of the time, I cheat with sunflare, this time, it's all real. Shame I didn't wait half a second to shoot it, a Hummer Limo drove down the street as soon as I pulled the camera away from my face.

5. She hasn't seen this one yet, but I have to share it with *somebody*

6. Rock on a Rock. This was once a window but the glass is long gone.

7. They're standing in a window of an old church that is now part of a performance hall in Fort Worth, Texas. She's a seminary student, so I couldn't resist it. I kick myself for not reading the sign to see how old the "church" part really was.

I'll most likely add to this as they get edited, there's a few more that stand out to me.

    Haha!

She was standing in the grass waiting on him to meet her and the light hit her hair and all of sudden it was "don't move!!!" and I just fired away. That was the first teaser she got and she went nuts.

Yeah, in retrospect, I shouldn't have centered 7 like I did, but I didn't have a lot of room and I was trying to avoid looking "through" the alley way. Gorgeous bricks there, though. No wonder everybody goes ape over that location.

I'm working on one now, I'll post it when I'm done.

    Thanks for the kind words!

    Just for you, Ted

I can't decide which one I like more, I have my reasons for each.

I'm just proud of her for picking out their clothes, we discussed it a few times and when she told me what they were going to wear, I wanted to just hug her. She nailed it.

    Lines and a Kiss B/W

    OR...

    Lines and a Kiss

I promise there's the same amount of vignette on each, it just seems more prominent on the b/w one.

Love 2, 3, and 4. Did you treat her skin or is it really that smooth? I'm on an HD display and looks a bit overdone...but maybe it's d/t this particular screen's resolution? (tends to push whites/neutrals further than what's really there.)

I *barely* treated it, it was unusually smooth SOOC and I just ever so slightly tweaked it. I just ran over it with a clarity brush set all the way down in PS but that's it. I asked her to wear her "evening" make-up and she did it perfectly.
